Love animals? Want to know more about being a zookeeper? Want to help care for the animals at the zoo?
Then the Junior Zookeeper Club (School Years 3 to 6) and (Years 7-10) is for them!
These programs are designed for those keenly interested in animals and learning how zoos operate. Its also a great stepping stone for kids wanting to pursue an animal related profession.
Junior Zookeeper Club Membership entitles the child to attend weekend programs that include feeding animals, behind the scenes tours and helping care for the animals through food preparation, cleaning, creating enrichment and learning about conservation and animal health.
Sessions occur almost every month on a weekend for 3 hours either in the morning - 9am to 12pm OR in the afternoon - 1pm to 4pm.
***NOTE*** You are booking your child/ren into the yearly program using the FIRST DATE these sessions commence.
Primary sessions begin 11/12th February. High School sessions begin 18/19th February. Select morning or afternoon on either Saturday or Sunday.
Swapping session days or times once the program has commenced cannot be guaranteed and is subject to availability.

Average Duration: Sessions run for 3 hours from 9am-12noon or from 1pm-4pm

Junior Zookeeper members are issued with a special T-shirt and cap, but of course they should dress for the weather and wear coats if required. They should also wear enclosed shoes, and should have sunscreen applied and packed for the day as well as water.
No spectators please
Zookeepers work in all types of weather, and so do Junior Zookeepers!
